Wow - could my heart be any more full? The answer, of course, is NO! I knew I would love him but unless you have already become a grandparent, no one can tell you what this is like. I am so proud of Sarah, my only daughter, for being such a good 1st time mommy. And our little one, only 8 days old, is the joy of my heart, even at 1:30 a.m.! Ha!
One funny thing, I had the hardest time knowing what I wanted to be called by our grandbaby. Why? Well, I am relatively young so pet names like "granny" just didn't work for me. I did quite a bit of searching and came on the term "nonni" which comes from "nonna" and is the Italian term for grandmother. I like it! I think I can teach him to say it, too. that's what's most important. I want him to always know David ("papi") and I and always feel that when he is with us he is very loved.
I am so proud!
