Cinnamon Pumpkin-Sweet Potato Souffle

MERRY CHRISTMAS, ALL!
This is a wonderful holiday side-dish that is easy to make.
Cook 2 large yams and scrape contents out of the skin. Preheat oven to 350. In a mixing bowl, Combine 2 cups of (fresh cooked or canned) mashed pumpkin with 2 large mashed yams, then add 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 3/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 stick of butter and a teaspoon of salt. After combining ingredients well, transfer to a baking dish. Optional topping: place pecans in rows over the top of the mixture and sprinkle cinnamon-sugar and drizzle butter. Bake for about 45 minutes. Voila! This is a wonderful alternative to marshmallow yams, or anything similar. The combination of the pumpkin and yams make a great texture and they compliment each other, well. If you're not a big fan of pumpkin, try this with butternut squash, instead. Enjoy!
